All investments, whether custom-targeted or not, benefit from full portfolio diversification. Approximately 65% of our portfolio is at work in the US, and 35% is international. Rigorous due diligence is performed on every group in the portfolio, and an additional $20 million in security enhancements help many advisors feel secure recommending the Calvert Community Investment Note to their clients.
Affordable Housing: 30% of the portfolio

Small Businesses & Community Facilities: 25% of the portfolio
- Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) make up the core of our portfolio

- At work in institutions with projects in over 106 countries
- Includes Microfinance Institutions, Intermediaries and Networks
Social Innovations: 10% of the portfolio
- Social Enterprises with high-impact missions account for 5% of our portfolio
- Fair Trade Coffee Cooperatives account for 2% of our portfolio
- The final 3% goes to Independent Media and other non-traditional, high-impact groups
